I hold a master's degree in research psychology, gained with distinction. My research project was carried out between 2004 and 2005 with local (South African) population groups. My project entailed a validation study of an established psychometric instrument that had been normed in countries other than SA. I relied on quantitative methodology and my literature review was extensive.
However, most of the social science dissertations which I edit use qualitative methodology. I have a solid understanding of both qualitative and quantitative paradigms and techniques. I also have a good knowledsge of theories and trends in psychology and other social sciences.
Depending on my availability I am willing to contract for research projects, either generating new output or editing existing material. You will need to supply all raw data which you want me to analyse and interpret, as well as any drafts you may already have written. My strength in writing research reports lies in my mastery of both statistics and words, and my ability to explain complex procedures in fairly simple English.
Specific tests and techniques which I can perform (or edit) include the following:
choosing suitable sampling methods and size
 analysis of variance (Anova)
 t-tests and F-tests
critical values, null and alternative hypothesis
 descriptive statistics and graphs
correlational matrices and analysis (Pearson's r)
 studies of reliability (Cronbach's alpha)
 studies of validity
 statistical power
 factor analysis
full written interpretation of all the above, with reference to relevant literature review or theory.
